September 01, 1998 to April 2000 a member of SAM RAINSY party, supporter level.
February 02, 1987 to September 01, 1998 Funcinpec Active member. and the last position served as bodyguard to first prime minister. Rank Lt. Colonel under commander of Thach Soung (under cover)
July 07, 1997 after bloodshed in Phnom Penh, I departed from Phnom Penh to Bangkok, Thailand via Royal Thai Airforce-C130 where I recieved a refugee status by UNHCR. Then I joined with the remaining Funcinpec Troop fighting to defend O'smach the last remaining of Funcinpec Resistance against Mr. Hun Sen Forces. I traveled around Thailand and met several businessmen seeking a contribution to feed the troops the border who needed supplies. I visited General Nhek Bunchai and Gen. Khan Savoeun and other generals to understand what they needed and their defense plan. I donated two radios to the headquaters because I saw it had no communication with thier troops in the front line and with the commanders in the rear.
I returned to Phnom Penh after I learned from the United Nations and the U.S Embassy in Bangkok that Mr. Hun Sen has accepted the UN Resolution and allowed to have an election, dated Jan/02/98. Then I got job at the U.S embassy in Phnom Penh as Security Chief.
During this time I learned a lot about the Funcinpec chian of command and that there was no real chain of command and no organization to solve the real issues. But I did admired ex. Khmer Rouge troop from Anlong Veng, under command of Ta mok to help build and digging the trench along the defending line of base (Ta Tum) and many of them were handicap and they were expert on making bombs. I visited them and talked with them I also brought them some medicine and Bill Clinton wine, it is a little gift of appreciation for there help and sacrifice.
I will always remember those days when I was in the jungle after July 4-5, 1997 street fighting and men and women who fought dearly to defensnd thier last freedoms.
Today, We must, Unite And Stand, so that thier is No More bloodshed.
May God be with us all.
